HIghlights for Challenge # 208

Thank you for playing along with our challenge this week everyone! Such wonderful entries for our sequins/glitter challenge. Here are some highlights for you!

Those sequins added just the right touch to this wonderfully textured card!

The clean look of this layout is really great with just a few pastel sequins put in for some great clustering.

This fun watercolored shaker card is a great way to use up a bunch of those sequins in one shot. :)

Challenge #208 - Sequins or Glitter ♥

Hello everyone!  Renee here with the new challenge for this week.  I'm not sure about you, but I fell in face first to the sequin/glitter craze.  Consequently, I have a ton of it in my craftroom.  Lately, I have been looking for a way to use lots of it up at a time.  So, the challenge for this week is to pull out some of your sequins or glitter and use it on a project.

For my take on this challenge, I used my Fuse tool, another of my supplies that often sits unused, and made a bookmark for my planner for the month of January.  Because I was custom fusing the bookmark, I was able to put in a ton of sequins to add sparkle to the bookmark.

Okay, your turn.  Lets see what you can come up with using sequins or glitter.

I used some old book pages for the background. I stamped my image and placed it behind a "frame", actually a leftover from a Lace-Up Picture Frame, which I colored with gold, brown and a tad of green acrylic paint.

Since I didn't have any sequins I added distress glitter to a heart.

To create my card, I used a Fancy Heart die cut from DieNamites as focal point and a stamped background in the same tone on my card base. Also I added three different colors of sequins gold rose, antique rose and white and a little touch of glitter represented on the bottom border.

I used one sequin embellishment on this layout, it's the yellow bow on the bottom left of the layout.

I've had this big stack of glitter paper for awhile and so I've been trying to use it on a variety of projects.  It worked just great for this Valentine's Day card I CASE'd off of Pinterest

Challenge #207 - 3 or more patterned papers

Hi it's my turn to host and I am challenging you to do my go-to stuff-user-upper  - using 3 or more patterned papers on a project.  Whether you use up some scraps or cut down bigger sheets and use both sides to get your 3 patterns I just want to see you mix it up!

I think sticking in the same colour families keep it from looking too busy.

The other girls did it like this:

Here is my take on this weeks challenge.  It might not look like it but I did only use 3 different sheets of patterned paper.  I love any range that has double sided papers for just this reason.  So much versatility!

Amanda

I used three different patterned papers, in combination with some solid cardstock, to create this page!

I chose some papers from the Be Loved collection by My Mind's Eye for my layout.  I love getting paper kits that already have matching papers :)

Challenge #206 - Brads

Hi everyone! It's Amanda with this week's challenge!

Brads are one of my favorite embellishments both for attaching things or just for decoration!
This week I challenge you to dig into your stash and use one or more brads on your project!

For mine I used up some super tiny black brads for my flower centres!

Here's a look at what the design team came up with!

Martha Lucia
I used brads just to decorate the border of my tag. This is non traditional card created with Quick Quotes Scrapbook papers and PowderPuff Chalk Inks.

Majo

I didn't even know I had brads :)
I used Rubber Dance Stamps, a Sizzix die, some hemp cord and of course the square brads!

Julia

I pulled out some large fabric covered brads to use on this Christmas layout. I hope you get inspired to pull out some brads from your stash and use them up on a project this week.

Karrie
I don't use brads often because I don't like poking holes in my pages, but
one of my favourite things to do with brads is create layered flowers
with old flat ones to use in my clusters.

Renee
For my card, I used brads to add visual weight to the top and bottom of my card for balance.

Challenge #205 - Tags

Hello everyone!  Happy New Year to all of you! I hope that you all enjoyed the holiday season and are ready to get back to some challenges!

It's Lori here, and I am excited to bring you your first challenge of the new year. My challenge to you is to use a tag on your project.

Here's a look at what the design team has created for you:

I had an ephemera pack from Pink Paislee that I uncovered in my stash recently, and I thought the tag and the heart transparency worked so well together for my card.
Do Not Open Until Dec 25.
I had a few extra tags laying around, even after wrapping presents with my "helper!" !!

I was going old school with this layout and just doing simple stamping and embellishments lots of inking and a few die cuts and transparencies that I found in  my stash...

Amanda

I used a tag for my journalling on this layout!

I made this simple card using a tag to stamp out my images on and a second tag to make it pop!

I hope you find some time this week to play along with our challenge. I look forward to seeing your creations!
